The question “Where can US citizens travel right now”, “Can US citizens travel to Europe” and “Is Croatia open for US citizens” are popular Google searches right now.
Things are changing daily and we just found out that the US Embassy in Croatia added this to their website.
Entry for tourism is permitted only with documentary evidence of an accommodation paid in advance and in full, prior to arrival at the border (The accommodation reservation alone is not sufficient to be permitted entry). Tourists must have a negative PCR test result not older than 48 hours from the time of the swab to crossing the border.
So if you were planning to take a trip to Europe this summer, Croatia is a fantastic option. Sure, if you’re vaccinated you could travel to Iceland (Iceland just opened its borders to vaccinated travelers) but if sandy beaches, sunshine, and amazing World Heritage sites, Croatia might be the best European travel destination 2021 for you.
Our top 5 sights in Croatia are:
- Dubrovnik
- Plitvice Lakes National Park
- Mljet Island / Mljet Na
- Zlatni Rat Beach
- Hvar Town
